Climb the handmade rustic staircase up to a cosy bolthole just for two. The Loft on the croft has a Highland outdoor theme inspired by our own adventures and travels. The loft is a space very close to our hearts and was designed by Ailsa and and the whole interior was hand-crafted by Jonny. Open plan, with a hand-made king size bed, cosy wood burning stove, and a handy compact kitchen with breakfast bar, beautiful dining table with vintage chairs and antique church pew seating. The space is lit by a row of skylights providing wonderful light during the day, and glowing copper pendants at night. The colours and textures of the Highland landscape are reflected in the green, white and wood colour scheme, locally woven textiles and furnishings. Look out over the swaying tree tops as you have your morning coffee or soak in the roll top bath under the stars at night. You can even spot our local Munro, Ben Wyvis, from the deck at the top of the stairs. A few pieces of carefully selected vintage and whisky barrel furniture, plus a beautiful bathroom with rainfall shower, fabulous bath and bespoke concrete sink with vintage sewing table make the space pretty special. Back down the stairs and hidden at the back you’ll find a little garden with outdoor dining space on the deck, a charcoal bbq and a fire pit, perfect for a romantic evening under the stars with a wee dram.
The Loft has a dreamy romantic feel with a bit of added luxury and is perfect for couples looking to celebrate a special occasion or engagement. The Big Sky Croft has plenty of beautiful scenic spots and our own secluded woodland plus miles of forest walks at the bottom of the drive. Ideal for a very special elopement or micro wedding with potential for other guests staying in our log cabins. The Loft is located above our store but with very hi tech insulation it's a super cosy and peaceful hideaway. It's near to our own house, Big Sky HQ, so you may hear our young family playing in the garden, but we will give you plenty of privacy during your stay.
The loft is accessed via an external flight of stairs so if you have mobility issues you may wish to take a look at our cabins instead. All have ramp access and bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor.
